Reinaert beer is named after the medieval Reignhard the fox" story (oldest manuscript from about 1275), originally written and told in Flandres (the region between Gand and Antwerp). The story, in which animals play human roles, is frequently translated in many languages. It is only brewed in the region where the story took place (between Gand, Belgium and Hulst, Netherlands).
