The company was founded in 1922 by a former gold prospector and two farmer brothes, who were British settlers.One of the farmers was latter killed by an elephant, and his brother named a beer Tusker in his memory. It seems odd that he named the beer after the killer and not the victim. (Thanks Paul & Laura) This name TUSKER means a male elephant with the two long teeth in front. These two teeth are called TUSKs and anything or anybody having them are called TUSKERS!!
