The company was founded in 1922 by a former gold prospector and two farmer brothes, who were British settlers.One of the farmers was latter killed by an elephant, and his brother named a beer Tusker in his memory. It seems odd that he named the beer after the killer and not the victim. (Thanks Paul & Laura) This name TUSKER means a male elephant with the two long teeth in front. These two teeth are called TUSKs and anything or anybody having them are called TUSKERS!! (Thanks Anthony) It comes from afamous large tusked elephant, A ststue of which is in the national musseum in Nairobi
