Well that is a bit rash but anyway. The history or brewing process of this
beer is not known to us, but the result is something we do appreciate.
Since the sleeve says that the beer was made 1. Novemer, we assume that they
make this beer only once a year. This bottle was made 1. nov. 1991 and was on
sale at summer 1995. We also have 1992 batch, purhaced summer 1996.
This makes the maturing time something like three years before release.
The year - stamped bottle opener is quite stupid gimmick but after a full
load of these, youll never run out of openers :-)
(For lingually challenged: Gammel Brygd can be translated as "Brewed in
the Old Way)

Love this beer. Does anyone know where one can find it in the UNited States? I used to live in Sweden and looked forward to it at special occasions; even on Santa Lucia Day (Dec 13) no matter how cold it was -and it was ALWAYS cold that day - a Gammel Brygd was the reward at the end of a festive day...

I used to distribute this beer when I was living in Indonesia. It is a very nice beer with a very smooth yet strong taste.

Gammel bryggd is very good, but it is not faire comparing it with theCarnegie porter 2,8 %. The strong Carnegie is the best beer in Sweden.Gammelbryggd probobly comes there after.(Do not forget that 4,5 % is bye weight that means ca 5,8 % in volyme)
